Sweetflag, Golden Variegated

This grassy-leaved sweet flag cultivar is a dwarf plant which looks like a grass or small iris, but is actually a member of the acorus family. It has insignificant flowers and is grown primarily as a ground cover or accent.

Big Bluestem

A native American prairie grass.  Erect clumps of arching linear blue-green leaves changing to bronze-red in autumn.

Narrow, bluish-gray leaf blades (to 1/4" wide) typically forming dense spreading clumps. Produces flowers and seeds on one side of the stem. Foliage turns golden brown in autumn, sometimes also developing interesting hues of orange and red.

A native, warm-season grass that forms dense tufts.  Has one sided spike inflorescences which curl downward as they mature.

A.K.A. Rattlesnake Grass. Bears panicles of translucent dangling seed heads on wiry stems. Green at first, the seed heads then turn a warm tan color as they dry. Cut back after seed heads shatter to encourage fresh growth.

Feather Reed, Fall Blooming

Narrow clump forming grass. Rich green spring growth turns to dark green then bright yellow in the fall. Late summer flowers of light pink blush turns to buff. Flowers are fatter and fluffier than the other feather reed grass. Likes moist, well-drained soils.
